 About Us

We are a small family owned business based out of our small town of Newington CT. Our family has always been dedicated to bringing more art into the world. My father and late mother started their own artisan shop in Bangladesh about 15 years ago where they sold handmade products from local Bangladeshi artists. My talented mother also used to create many of the art products by hand for the shop. They made sure to involve me in every aspect of their business, and, through their creative process, they instilled in me, the value of hard work and influenced me to look at the world through a creative lens.

Bangladesh is a small and unknown country to many but art has been one of the central parts of our culture. We value the hidden art of Bangladesh. My parents have shown me the value of the work of the artisans and I want to show the capabilities of them to the world through our company.

We started in 2022 to bring in the hidden skills of the Bangladeshi artisans. By selling on the international market, we are able to provide jobs to many of the Bangladeshi artisans who would otherwise have limited opportunities of making a living with their talent. It is my hope, by growing our business, to provide more support to the artisans. As our business grows, we plan to support them in more meaningful ways.

We care about our artisans and makers. I have personally visited all of our production facilities in Bangladesh to ensure the artisans have safe working conditions, receive a living wage and are treated with respect. Since I was a child, my parents taught me the value of ethics and I want  to continue this practice through my business and in my life.

We care about our artisans and the environment. It is predicted that Bangladesh will be one of the countries most impacted by climate change so we make sure to use sustainable products such as jute and seagrass. We have also begun to incorporate reclaimed garment wastage into our baskets. Bangladesh is one of the major producers of garments and as a result there is lots of garment wastage.

The artisans weave garment scraps into the baskets to create unique color designs. Even our macramé hangers are made from reclaimed cotton that would otherwise have ended up in the landfill. We let no parts go to waste. Starting in 2024, we will be using recycled PVC plastic liners to keep your baskets protected for years to come. We hope you enjoy our eco baskets to enhance your beautiful plants. Thank you for supporting our small business!
